The Column is the signature anchor of Terra Allegoria, and the only one fabricated entirely at this bench. From a distance it is a plain silver cylinder. Close to, it is more than twenty operations.
Cut
It begins as sterling silver, cut by hand. Every step that follows is small, and every one would be visible if it were done badly — a cylinder a fraction out of true breaks the rhythm of the whole strand.
Soldered and filed
Seams are soldered closed, then filed back until they disappear. The aim is a form with no evidence of its making: a pillar that looks as though it was never assembled at all.
Satin-brushed
The final surface is satin-brushed rather than polished. Polish reflects; a satin finish holds light softly, so the silver sits beside the stone instead of speaking over it.
Twenty operations, one silver cylinder — classical stability, modernist reduction, and undivided focus.
